If you're talking about the interview with John Canzano of the Oregonian, DJC states that, after basketball, she wants to be a forensic psychologist or behavior profiler. Although it's over a year old, in DJC's "Stanford Story" video, she says that she wants to get a master's or PhD in Psychology.



Given her post-basketball career goals, it only makes sense that academics still matter to DJC. According to Baylor's website, they have faculty members in both the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Department of Anthropology who teach forensics.



In any case, it sounds like I'm not convincing a lot of folks, so I guess we can agree to disagree.

I don't think Carrington should be judged on the basis of what she is doing for one year of graduate school.  But I would be surprised if academics turned out to have been the driving force on her decision as to where to transfer to.  That doesn't mean that academics isn't important to her (and I apologize if I intimated otherwise).
