Look at Sweden - really not much better than any other Western European country. If even Sweden's quasi-non-lockdown didn't do it, I'm not sure what would have.

Look globally. Even developing countries with non-lockdown policies like Brazil are hurting just as bad.
Counterfactuals are lovely things because you can stipulate whatever you want and will never need (or be able) to provide data to support your position.
