I worked with one of the Endless Summer guys. The all time low budget film. They cashed in and probably had more fun on the shoot than any other movie ever.
Another movie from long ago was “Derby.” Without getting too technical they removed the gate from an Auricon 16mm camera and installed one of the first Super 16 gates so that there would be a touch more information on the celluloid when blown up to 35. The product was gritty, sexy and unusual for its time (1970?). Shot for a few thousand it grossed about a million. Subject was Roller Derby.
