I believe GHC also passed a few years ago.  He was always very gracious when I stopped by in Santa Barbara when driving to San Diego.

BC, I'm so sorry to hear that.  I never met John in person but we exchanged our share of emails and messages.  "Gracious" is the first word that comes to mind when I think of him.

TDome was less a forum than a group chest-thump.  It was always about persona, one man's in particular.  The CEB was ok for a while while you, GHC and terry were posting to counter the main slant with facts, but it just wore thin.  That's when I surrendered and jumped over here, never looking back.
