The stock market is really just rich people feelings. If the rush to re-open provides enough sparks of hope, investor sentiment might be enough to dampen the reality of the body count.
I mean, did you see what happened Sunday with the announcement of Beijing's covid cluster? Dow futures understandably tanked, but come Monday, it was a steady increase back into the black. American optimism...or maybe sidelined money jumping back in to grab some value, and all this despite some of the worst unemployment numbers in history.
