They, along with the rest of Europe, had the determination from their government to attack this thing and defeat it. We had a populist anti-science moron, like Bolsonaro, running our response, dividing his nation and actively making things worse by discouraging masks and seemingly trying to slow testing roll out.
We are a Republic. Federal and State issues. We also dwarf Italy, Greece and Spain in size. NY is not led by a “populist anti-scientific moron”. Yet they had big problems. It’s easy to just blame Trump. And sure give him some blame. He deserves it. In point of fact, however, it’s a tad more complex.
