They, along with the rest of Europe, had the determination from their government to attack this thing and defeat it. We had a populist anti-science moron, like Bolsonaro, running our response, dividing his nation and actively making things worse by discouraging masks and seemingly trying to slow testing roll out.
HOWEVER, by mid-March, the pattern was known, the need for social distancing, and lately, masking. Trump has been a disaster.
I wouldn't give you two cents for all your fancy rules if, behind them, they didn't have a little bit of plain, ordinary, everyday kindness - yeah, and a little looking out for the other fella, too.
