There is no question he made the prediction. There were other more junior people at SHAFE that made similar predictions, although none of them saw the light of day. Interestingly enough, the above article contains seriously inaccurate "spin" surrounding an event that happened 75 years ago. What this article demonstrates is that for every significant unexpected even, somebody predicted it and was ignored. OTOH bad predictions are routinely made every day. Go figure.
