Nah.  Call me naive, but there was no reason this had to be partisan.  I think we all could have done with a dose of “country comes together to fight scourge of the 21st century”.  In fact, I thought that’s where we were headed early on.  But here we are.

Literally in the middle of the impeachment proceedings all of the Democrats in Congress, along with the media, would have said, “We have to put all this aside and listen to what the President says so we can all come together.” There isn’t even an alternative universe out there that would entertain that fantasy.

In any event, you can now tell that Summer has officially arrived, because it’s rerun season: this thread has already been run at least once, if not multiple times.
