I think it would probably take the death or at least severe illness of a high profile, young, otherwise healthy individual for it to really be a "game changer".

About player infections, the more probable scenario imo is that a largely unknown player gets ill but a high-profile teammate sounds the alarm about how dangerous it is to attempt to play.

Or a geezer-ish head coach gets really sick.
