Girls volleyball is like football in terms of interest among athletes. For the boys, there are strong boys volleyball programs in most midwestern states, particularly Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois and Michigan. None, to my knowledge, in Indiana. And men's volleyball is a spring sport, not a winter sport (except -- I think -- Wisconsin, which plays volleball in the fall). Overall, there are boys high school volleyball programs in 36 states (per MaxPreps).
