 - 23 NCAA D1
 - 24 NCAA D2
 - 107 NCAA D3
 - 43 NAIA
 - 41 Junior colleges

Comparable figures for women -- there are about 1,802 women’s varsity volleyball programs

- 334 NCAA Div. 1 
- 298 NCAA Div. 2
- 437 NCAA Div. 3 
- 220 NAIA 
- 67 four-year colleges outside of the above divisions
- 313 NJCAA (junior college)
- 133 two-year colleges outside of the NJCAA
