That being said, that tweet is more than a little bit what I hate about the "gotcha" culture we can't get enough of in our sad and pathetic society. The original tweet from the woman saying she wouldn't wear a mask, was made on May 9. The one saying she wants the same mask being worn by the POTUS was on July 11. How do we know this person hasn't already started wearing a mask? How do we know she didn't start taking the virus more seriously over the last two months? That's a long time to evolve your position, particularly if the virus has become a bigger deal where you live.
Unless the person being ridiculed steadfastly refused to wear a mask through July 10, and then only said she would wear one on July 11 - after seeing a pic of POTUS wearing a mask - there is no real story there, other than someone trolling for their gotcha moment of the day.
It's not so much the "gotcha" aspect of it, but more the "what could have been". The quickness with which his supporters have changed their mindset goes to show the low cost Trump would have incurred among his base had he pushed towards mask-wearing earlier. Had the response been "look how much of a wuss Trump is by wearing a mask", you might evaluate the situation differently and recognize that Trump was somewhat boxed in by his base. Alas, his base doesn't actually care about the issue; they are happy to support him whatever he does. He could have done this much sooner and not suffered from it. But late is better than never.
