Just another sordid tale in the long and infamous history of the University of Scandal & Corruption.
The most shocking thing in the LAT story for me: "A doctoral degree was going for $25,000."
Who in the hell getting a Ph.D is going to be looking for a phony degree? I thought the whole reason for pursuing one is to gain the knowledge from doing research? And who wants to be a terribly paid university Prof and pay an extra $25k for the privilege. Really makes no sense.
Spoiled undergrads have always been the ones buying phony degrees, because so many them cheated in high school also.
USC should lose its accreditation. Too many scandals and who knows what other shady behavior, to be taken seriously as an institution of higher learning.
