Just being logical, the population density and hospitals being overwhelmed had to play a very large role in the discrepancy. Another variable was that the tri-state dealt with crushing numbers when there was little understanding of how to treat patients.
You have to give people like my infection control nurse friend a lot of credit for stopping the spread and deaths in LTCF after April. I don't think his facility has had a Covid case since May. They got their results after creating Covid and Covid quarantine areas away from other residents and ramped up testing like crazy.
CT has gone two straight days with zero deaths! Though we did have +127 confirmed infections today after averaging about 50/day over last four days.
