With all due respect, hit pieces in Vanity Fair and the New Yorker don't do much for me.

OK, let me put it in terms that might do something for you...

Your family is eating poisoned food that can cause cancer and kill them. Your government knows this but doesn't want to tell you. It doesn't even matter why.  A "hit piece" in Vanity Fair is available to you that provides information to protect your family. But since you aren't into protecting yourself or others for that matter with information you'd rather not believe, you'll just whistle past the graveyard and do your part to harm as many people as possible.
