California has not come close tompassing NY. We have more than double the population. And we are not in the same ballpark as NY when it comes to deaths, thank goodness.

The CDC reports that NY state has had 422,349 total cases, while California has had 554,160 cases.  That is what I was referring to, passing NY on July 22.
(And, yes, NY state has had 32,465 deaths, compared to California's 10,293 deaths.)
