I wouldn't get too carried away yet.
It is unclear to me that the test is suitable for use with "high throughput" testing machines. Those usually require a cartridge/kit from the manufacturer. Not requiring specialized plasticware to take the sample, and not requiring skilled people to take the sample is a big plus. However, if the resulting test must be run on the smaller PCR machines, people like Quest probably will not be interested. Too manpower intensive.
This test may have many advantages, but we shouldn't expect too much too soon.
