I'd like to add another unchecked growth . . . crows.  I mean, WTH is going on with these birds that are taking over the skies?  Just as we should have controlled burns when forest fires get too dense, we should have controlled extermination of a certain number of crows.

I just listened to a KQED piece about crows...

Evidently back in the 1920's crows were considered pests and crow shoots were a thing.

Crows were mostly exterminated around here by the 1980's but since then the population has rebounded.
