I think it can make sense it certain areas, definitely. But considering the scale and inaccessibility of so much of the California forests, it can only help in a focused, local way. CC is the big dog that needs to be tackled.
Right now I'm bummed about canceling a trip to the Southern Sierras next week, affected by the SQF complex fire. Have to find somewhere else to camp that's not burning or covered in smoke.
