50 years ago our national reputation survived Vietnam, massive civil unrest, blackouts and race riots, Nixon's presidency, Watergate and assassinations of internationally known leaders.  We will be fine if we choose to pick up the reins again in November.  Sometimes a reality check followed by a recommitment to common principles is good for everyone.
