Joey Bart, 2 doubles, Belt a pinch hit double and almost hit a very long home run. Dickerson HR. Smyly pitched great. Defense was terrific. Daniel Robertson, normally a shortstop, was in left field. Hampson hit a ball headed for the corner, Robertson cut it off, threw a rope to 2B, threw out the speedy Hampson. Giants now 27-27, tied with Milwaukee. Coonrod got the save with two strikeouts, and about 1/2 dozen 100 mph pitches.
Every game is "must win" it seems, but a lot of contributors tonight.
Robertson's throw from LF to gun down Pillar (who also had a very good game for the Rockies) at second for first out of inning was key play of the game.
Belt's almost homer would have been a salami!
Dickerson with a very nice PH(?) dinger.
Smyly pitched pretty well. The only move I didn't like real time was taking out the lefty who had 0.00 ERA with a runner on 1B and 2 outs, in favor of the righty submarine guy. Pillar smoked a double down the LF line and tied the game at 2. Other than that, Kapler's decisions looked all good.
Slater has 8 steals in 9 attempts . . . nice!
