Based on the other pretenders, it looks like if the Giants can win 3 more games and get to 30-30 they will eke out the #8 spot. Basically, they must win the next two against the Rockies and get one off the Padres. The Phillies are not out of it yet because they hold the tie-breaker over the Brewers and Giants.

Reds 28-28 (Brewers, 3 Twins)
Brewers 27-27 (Reds, 5 Cardinals)
Giants 27-27 (2 Rockies, 4 Padres)
Phillies 26-28 (Nats, 3 Marlins)

If the Reds beat the Brewers today, and the Giants beat the Rockies, it’s going to be really tough for the Brewers. The Cardinals are better, and the Giants have one more game against the Rockies.
