I actually had switched over in disgust after my Longhorns were going to certainly lose, and it was great seeing him slinging (and making some really goofy mistakes).Leach's style is "fun" on the field, except when the Coug'd it. Wazzu fans were pretty unhappy when big leads disappeared. Didn't really happen vs Shaw, but Wazzu Coug'd away a number of important games.
I went to Stanford when Elway was playing, and Elway certainly made those Stanford years feel very Leach-like on the field.
Stanford football under Shaw is only fun when it is awesome. Leach football is never awesome but it is always fun.
Leach is rarely "fun" off the field. Sunday to Friday you have to hope Leach doesn't do things alums will regret. Google "Leach and tweet" or "Leach and concussion" and you will get a flavor for the nightmares you might enjoy with Coach Leach.
FWIW - I will take 2 Rose Bowl wins over a few years with the Pirate.
Not that it matters. Stanford University would probably not hire Coach Leach given the nightmares in his history.
I am a of immense proportions fan of Mike Leach. One of the best coaches of his generation. He has proven the ability to compete at the highest levels with talent that is pretty limited.
In terms of other issues with Coach Leach, here is my favorite....

Coach Leach likes the "fat little girlfriends" reference. I recall him using it after a desultory effort by his players at Wazzu.
He tells it like it is. If his team plays well he compliments them. If they don't he is not above taking them to the woodshed; he does not lose gracefully. Also, Political Correctness is not his strong suit.
The nightmares I had in mind related to tweeting altered political videos and his alleged mistreatment of a player with a concussion. Presumably there are others that never made national news, but those two alone would make him a bad fit for Stanford University.
Glad to see he found a spot in the SEC, since there are probably many other coaches with similarly questionable twitter choices and odd player health decisions. If he can find a way to beat Bama and Auburn and then find a way "Coug'd" it to Vanderbilt or Kentucky that would be great.
