Given daily testing of Trump and presumably those around him, there ought to be some decent evidence of source of infection and how quickly the disease was detected, and then how long until symptoms showed up.

Trump and wife announced positive about 12 hours before we're seeing reports of mild symptoms.  To me, that seems odd, unless the testing wasn't daily or there were false negatives.  But, it is possible the test only shows positive after you are contagious, and they were on the short end of the duration from contagious to symptomatic.

To my mind, this demonstrates a weakness in the theory that lots of testing will prevent an individual from getting sick.  I believe it allows for a mindset of "I don't have to be that careful."


It was interesting to see all the deleted posts here. 

No matter what your political feelings are, this is not a good scenario for the country.  It introduces a lot of uncertainty for the next few days/weeks, and, IMO, for the election.  Personally, I hope that we've seen all the positive cases for this outbreak.  I hope all recover quickly.

I hope the planners have run all the variants of this scenario months ago and have contingency plans of what needs to be done and by whom, so everything can be covered and dealt with by the appropriate positions, without missteps.
