P.S.  Had to look up TDS (and down a bit on Google hit).  Still, I don't think OF has used the term correctly.

Part of the derangement in TDS is an inability to identify deranged thinking vis a vis Trump.  The issue I have is encapsulated well by GR (and to an extent yourself), who notes that even as opponents get sucked up by irrational vitreol, the man is genuinely awful and really does need to be voted out, so it is hard to know when someone's opposition is deranged and when it is rational.

FWIW, even if he came to it for the wrong reasons, Trump has done some good things.  Operation Warp Speed will likely have accelerated vaccine development by a good bit of time, saving tens of thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands).  Broken clocks and all.
