I'm glad that government policy is dictated by changes in the stock market (though to be fair, this is hardly the first time; I'm old enough to remember when, 12 years ago, Republicans in the House reacted to a Dow Jones drop of 770 points after the House rejected TARP. TARP was passed less than a week later.
