BTW, we have crested over the peak of Peak Bay Area (to use a BC term) . . . 

That's pretty clear.

It can't be all bad, even for those of us living in Bay Area.  In fact, I appreciate lighter traffic (though not as light as it once was) and am happy for renters, in particular.

Right.  I want my kids to eventually be able to afford to live here (if they want to), so seeing annual 5% increases in property prices/rent is not compatible with that.
