I know many small businesses need another round of PPP and many families need cash. I feel like people don’t appreciate how much the last stimulus was propping things up, and accounts are starting to empty.(10-14-2020, 05:23 PM)BostonCard Wrote: [tweet]https://twitter.com/ThePlumLineGS/status/1316440950361731075?s=20[/tweet]
Raise your hand if you are surprised that all of a sudden Republicans are finding religion about fiscal restraint.

If the Republicans lose the Senate, they will have no say. If they vote no on stimulus, the Democrats will be able to use that against them in 2022. The key will be to raising taxes on a limited number of people.
I’m hopeful that after the election, we will get a stimulus package.
In the Dem sweep scenario, the lame duck Congress will have an incentive to make a deal. For senators who lose, why not try to send some pork to your old friends on the way out. For senators who will remain, just imagine how bad you will look crippling the US economy until the next Congress is sworn in, who will then promptly save the economy with a stimulus package. They might as well pass something.
It’s hard to imagine a minority filibustering a stimulus package. They might do that for gun rights or abortion rights, but a depression will hurt red states and blue states, it will bankrupt households and small businesses.
