More on Sweden versus the other Nordic countries:

Because of their different baseline unemployment, it's a bit of Apples to Oranges, but it sure looks like Sweden's jump from 7 to 9% unemployment exceeded that of the other countries (Finland, Denmark, and Norway, whose unemployment increased a little more than 1% each.
Really hard to argue that Sweden's policy involved "saving" the economy in exchange for a higher death rate.
