Now Trevor Lawrence of Clemson tests positive.  Looks like he will miss 2 games.

Haven’t heard about others at Clemson with positive results.

Apparently the others are OK.   Clemson had a lot of COVID positive players in the summer, so a number of the players likely still have some antibodies that could help here.   Have to believe Clemson beats Boston College with just a few starters ready to go, but beating Notre Dame might take a bit more effort.

I think the media assumed Clemson would beat all the better ACC teams during the regular season and then hand the second best team another loss in the ACC CG.   And that would mean the ACC would only get one CFP team.   However, Notre Dame could get a good chance to secure that CFP #4 slot if it beats Clemson on 11/7 and then loses to Clemson in the ACC CG.

So Trevor's positive test could be bad news for the Pac-12.

Trust he will be OK since the Clemson Football staff has lots of experience dealing with COVID on the team.

Nominee for Optimistic Post of the Bleakest of Years!  I seriously doubt a Pac 12 team will go 6-0, because that assumes a "complete" schedule.  Moreover, I doubt that would even be enough, unless said team broke out the Industrial-Sized Can of Whoop Ass most weeks.

Going 6-0 will be a touch easier without fans in the stands or students on campus.  Late in the season it should be easy for a 4-0 team to dig deep to win, while it might be very hard for a 1-3 team to find similar inspiration.  

Oregon is the Pac-12's best hope for the CFP.   If USC was undefeated they likely get in too.
As a Stanford alum I don't want to see Oregon go 6-0 as that would mean a Stanford loss.   I have no desire to see USC get into the CFP.
Every other Pac-12 team would need to at least avoid lucky or ugly wins and go undefeated.
Even today the Pac-12's chances are better than the Big-12s chances of a CFP.  

Ultimately the Pac-12 needs some help.  Notre Dame beating Clemson in 10 days and then losing to Clemson in the ACC CG would be a very bad scenario for the Pac-12.   Clemson probably beats Notre Dame without Lawrence, but if the ACC produces a 1 loss Notre Dame and a 1 loss Clemson team then that's a very bad scenario for the Pac-12.

That said, I hope the every D1 player that gets COVID continues to recover as quickly as most of the others have apparently done so far.
