I'm not sure whether I should be heartened or discouraged by that graph.  I think it's fair to say that the covid recession affected different sectors of the economy disproportionately.  Many of those who lost jobs were entertainment/food&drink/events workers who were probably not being paid all that much in the first place and, if my acquaintances are any indication, are being stretched to their limits.  I'm not sure we can afford to wait four years to get back to where we were.
