Yesterday was painful. Some of that is on the P12 and the Covid test pulling some of our best players from last week's game and practice. Both Mills and Weddington had to shake off the rust, and it showed. I'm tired of watching a lack of execution and in game adjustments from our STAFF. The trick play/delay of game BS was just painful to watch. We ran both so poorly that we managed to show some of the "tricks" after the whistle was blown. Why!?
What is obvious to me here:
1) We need a new OC that will challenge Shaw and his Shawfence - there is no "O" in that word. We can all call Shaw's plays from the stands and so can the opposing DCs.
2) There is a massive void created by Turley's absence - has the new S&C coach totally abandoned some of the work that made us strong and tough in years past? I'm not hearing (or seeing) good things about him.
3) Why are student athletes leaving the TEAM? This points to bigger issues...
4) Shaw and staff seem to have become complacent on coaching, recruiting and executing with urgency. Stop the slide, please.
5) Is Muir going to soft play this like he did with Johnny Dawkins?? His job is to coach Shaw and show him the blind spots. I think Lex mentioned the departure of Bob Bowlsby as a turning point. I think that's spot on.
Lose to the weenies again, that just can't happen!
