A sad and terrible milestone now that over 250,000 Americans have died from Covid. Also today, two more representatives have tested positive: Republican Dan Newhouse of Washington and Republican Doug Lamborn from Colorado.
This is in addition to Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa testing positive Tuesday, and after the (at least) two Super Spreader events at the White House.
Additionally, Republican Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa has now issued a mask order, reversing statements this summer -- “No, I’m not going to mandate masks,” she said this summer, dismissing the order as an unenforceable “feel-good” measure. “I believe in Iowans."
Huh, I wonder where Dr. Atlas and his Twitter account is now that Republican governors are issuing lockdowns and mask rules.
Where are all the conspiracy theorists who claimed masks "trap in" the virus and make you sicker, when a Republican governor issues a mask mandate? Do masks cause mask-ne only when Democratic governors mandate them?
If Governor Reynolds believes masks work and that freedom-loving Iowans can wear masks, then wouldn't it follow that masks would've worked in May, as well? Then why all the hatred against masks all summer? Why were security guards verbally abused, punched and even shot and killed trying to enforce mask rules at private businesses?
What a strange type of "science" that reverses itself depending on who's saying it.
I've cancelled my very minimal plans to catch up with a few friends outdoors and am stocking up for the dark winter. Good luck to us all.
