Some other bests:
Best QB Game - Joe Borchard against UCLA, 1999, and i am fully aware of Brodie, Norman, Plunkett, Benjamin, Dils, Stenstrom, and Luck when I write that. Second place is Plunkett in the 1970 Arkansas game. Third, Andrew Luck in the game he apologized to the cheerleader, I forget the opponent.
Best Receiver Gane - James Lofton in the aforesaid UCLA game. No second, there have been too many great ones.
Defensive games - some other time. The most spectacular single play was Sampson's one armed tackle of Reggie Whoever in the 1972 Rose Bowl.
Putting aside the Revenge of the Play aspect of Big Game 1990, that one stands out because Milburn and Russell White of Cal together put on one of the most impressive dueling RBs in a game I can recall. It was a tremendous and exciting game throughout, which distinguishes it from the rather lackluster 1982 Big Game (along with, of course, which team came away with The Axe).
