I believe that UConn will have a tournament resume if they don't play a game until mid-March. Indeed, if there is some rule that would prohibit them from playing, I'm sure it will be changed. If they can play 5 players, they'll be in the tournament. I think they've earned it.
In WVB Stanford usually gets preferential treatment in tournament seeding based on reputation. The seeding committee just expects Stanford will end up in the final four even if they stumbled early in the season.
