I think that's the point.  It strikes me as a fundamental misalignment of priorities that we bring back football players to campus, build an infrastructure around testing them daily and keeping them safe, but don't even attempt to do that for the students.  The message it sends is that finding a way to play football is more important than academics or finding a way to get the students to campus.

If the University of Illinois can do it, how come Stanford didn't?

Stanford students, faculty and staff can be tested pretty much as often as they want. I don't think the Stanford community is the issue, more the county as a whole.
