I assume the TV money for football games disappears if those games aren't played. The AD just cut 11 sports to balance the budget. Want to lose some more?
IMO - Play UW and then just declare Oregon State a COVID no contest. Lots of other Pac-12 schools have lost 2 or more games to COVID, so should be fine to drop the Stanford vs Oregon State game that Fox and ESPN won't really want to televise anyway.
The 12/20 games are a different deal, but I suspect they are all going to go away. Too much COVID will be floating around for a lot of the Pac-12 teams to be able to field teams by then. Couple that with like AC, SCC and LAC restrictions, and the 12/20 slate looks very vulnerable.
Guess we will see, but Stanford will need to be careful on the gender compliance. A school should not be able to give a benefit to the men's football team and then not give a similar benefit to the female contact sports on campus. That would mean more expenses to offset that TV revenue.
FWIW - I am much personally more worried about those other sports since they are unlikely to win NCAA team titles if they are not practicing and competing in December and January. As the winter quarter looks highly unlikely to take place on campus anyway, it would seem possible for Stanford to set up an athletic campus in a more lenient state if expenses are in fact offset by the football TV revenue (LOL).
Got to get a place for Stanford men's & women's hoops to play ASAP. They both look legit!

Will the hoops teams go there too or is this just the relocation plan for football?
