Pitching for Stanford should be outstanding however the Pac 12 pre season rankings has league teams as the top 3 in the nation.  Plus two more top 25.

The question of course is will there be a season for a team in Santa Clara county?  Practice should start about Jan 11 and will that be possible.    Of course will it be possible for any Spring seasons?

Already the wonderful Mary Nutter tournament in the Palm Springs area has been cancelled.  Stanford is often at this tournament with many other schools.

I get that folks are panicking a bit with the alarming numbers, including those threatening hospital capacity (a legit concern).  But really, keep longer-term in mind and the risk of the activity in question.  Softball and soccer (though I'd say all college sports) provide minimal risk, especially where campuses are not crawling with students. Plus, vaccines will begin the slow roll out next month (knock on wood), that should help reduce risk of death/serious illness for everyone.  

But in the meantime, those not being smart about distancing and masking need to be.  Right away.  It's really not that hard/that much of an imposition.
