Was anyone else at the UNC game at Maples in December, 1983? The championship game of the Stanford Invitational if I recall correctly. Maples was sold out as everyone wanted to watch UNC's junior phenom Michael Jordan. He scored 4 points and fouled out. The Tar Heels did not need him. They also had Sam Perkins, Brad Daugherty and Kenny Smith and won 88-75. It was still thrilling to feel the energy in Maples from a full house.

JJJ - Jerry Hobbie, now that's a blast from the past. The Stanford fans just loved his game. We cheered for every good thing he did on the court and chanted his name. All this for a Fordham player! If I remember correctly, Stanford fans carried him off the court after the 3rd place game vs. San Jose St. Hobbie is now on staff at UW. https://gohuskies.com/staff-directory/jerry-hobbie/3518
