I think the rules are a little different over there and have to interact with EU stuff. As a consequence there isn't going to be a brobdingnagian difference between the UK vs. US vs. EU.
Ultimately, that said, the important thing is not to start vaccinating first (though that's obviously a consideration); it's to vaccinate a large mass of people quickly. Starting before logistics are in place are a good way to gain some short-term win-the-press-conference vibes but would mar the bigger picture.
