Army, Navy, AirForce, Rice, Vandy and Stanford. Then all the rest. Let football go solo. The service academies will still be somewhat competitive and the other three should go
D2. Vandy can’t compete in the Southeast, Rice can’t compete with anyone and the mission of Stanford U is at cross purposes with big time football. FCS has a bunch of really good teams so D2 could be dominated by Stanford which will still have some very good players who are truly student athletes. Stanford is experiencing the downside of the early sighing date, won’t accept transfers and JC kids and will never accept early entry, all necessary to compete in today’s college football world. Stanford could still schedule a yearly road beating from an SEC team and get a huuuge payday that would go a long way to fund other sports. Might be hard to find D2 opponents out West but travel with 55 instead of 85. Works for me.
