Because many/most current Stanford fans have no memory of what a real, diverse offense looks like and can accomplish (without necessarily having a dominant OL, which is what is required for the current regime to even have a decent offense)?
The real answer is 10 years of frustration with the current guy leads some of us to believe that any change - including to former QBs who know what good offenses look like and have played in same - would be better than what we have.
That is the most direct answer.
