We have now repurposed a surgical recovery room as a non COVID ICU, and opened a previously closed ward as another noncovid ICU, because all our normal ICU space is now COVID. The hospital length of stay is much lower now compared to earlier in the pandemic, so I think our management has improved, but the volume of new patients has overwhelmed that still.I think the imminence of widely available vaccines is not helpful.
We turned this around twice before....needs to happen again soon.
I wouldn't give you two cents for all your fancy rules if, behind them, they didn't have a little bit of plain, ordinary, everyday kindness - yeah, and a little looking out for the other fella, too.
