Thanks for posting the story--a real life lesson learned because of it.
My daughter took a few shots off her head yesterday in water polo practice. She laughed about it and enjoyed telling the story, but a little later, she complained about a headache and difficulty concentrating. No other symptoms. Because of this post, I chatted with an advice nurse, who scheduled a video call with a doctor, who scheduled an in person visit this afternoon. Sure enough, she was diagnosed with a concussion, and will not be having any contact in goal for the next couple of weeks. So glad we caught it.
I am SO glad to hear that you caught it. And may your daughter have a speedy and full recovery.
(I don't know why, but I somehow felt like I should post it when I saw the story. Maybe that was the purpose.)
Thanks again!. The more information and the more experiences shared, the better for all of us. The ingrained biases to suck it up, to push forward and play through it are in all of us. Really difficult to take a step back and wait for a little bit, though in the long run, it's soooo much better.
Stay well!
Free Phogge!!!! And no, crimson doesn't refer to the Tide.
