BC, I don't think spring would work.
Only 40% (100M) of 16+yo Americans (> 250M) will have 1st vaccinations by the end of February, or equivalently, full dose by the end of March, IF everything goes well. Who would want to start football in April (get back in shape, etc) and try to finish by June? Who wants to tell the voters that college football players, who are already getting a free ride, should be at the front of the vaccination line? Or, perhaps more importantly, who is going to tell Wall Street that their employees & customers are going to have to stay home even a week longer so FB can proceed?
[I deleted my views about the coming 6-8 months as it really belongs on the COVID board. I'm trying to keep this relevant to athletics & Stanford athletics in particular.]
I also feel that this season should be ended early. I don't think the NCAA has the guts to do it. I am glad that Stanford saw the futility of post-season play this year.
