Pelosi tried to get a unanimous consent to increase the amount to $2K but the Republican's in the House rejected it. So now, she can get an amendment passed on Monday and send it to the Senate. Then we're stuck until Trump decides to sign or veto.
Correct. My hope is Congress pushes for a signature or a veto. Just really hard for me to wrap my head around Congress passing a bill with 88% support, and not uniting to try getting it made into law.
