My recollection is that the ncaa and nfl have colluded so players can’t go until they’ve been in college a minimum of 3 years, so actually we know quite a few key starters are returning, unless they transfer before getting a degree, which doesn’t seem common at Stanford.

NFL CBA says you can't go pro until three years after your senior year in high school, which as others have mentioned for a player who goes on a two year mission means after one year of college football (or one year of training for the draft).
