It ought to be a charge. If any player veers off course to cause contact with another player in any other situation on the court, they would be called for a foul. This kind of maneuver cheapens the game in my opinion.
FWIW, the WNBA refs were wise to that trick and didn't let Plum get away with it so often after she went pro.
