Was there a point to fouling with less than a second left and a six point deficit, other than pad the final score to 8?

Thank goodness for Fran, who came up very big in a game where Jones was in foul trouble, Brink was out, Williams was 1/9 from three and cold much of the first half, Lexie struggled offensively, and Wilson unexpectedly sat out for large swaths of the game (also, she was completely silent on offense, not even attempting a shot).
